Fertilizers & Nutrients

When you garden organically, you think of your plants as part of a complete system that starts in the soil and includes the water and light supply, wildlife and even insects. An organic gardener strives to work in harmony with natural systems and to minimize and continually replenish any resources the garden consumes.

While you are working on improving soil, you will probably want to use organic fertilizers to enhance plant performance.  To the gardener, organic means no pesticides or herbicides; no potentially toxic or hazardous materials are to be used on crops to control bugs, weeds and diseases. This includes unnatural or man made chemicals. Organics must be made by nature, not by man.

If you are growing in a hydroponic system, it is essential to use nutrients specifically designed for hydroponic gardening. That is because hydroponic nutrients contain essential micro-nutrients such as calcium, magnesium, sulfur, boron, cobalt, copper, iron, manganese, molybdenum and zinc; all are required for healthy plant growth. Plants grown in soil are expected to find the essential nutrients in soil, while hydroponically grown plants need to receive essential nutrients as food during the watering cycle.

Both hydroponic fertilizers and those intended for use in soil contain the three major nutrients, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.

There is no magic potion solution to the right nutritional program for your garden; different plants require different amounts and combination and it will be up to you to decide on the appropriate feeding program to suit your needs. Often, for specific types of plants, variable growing conditions, or when a precise nutrient deficiency occurs, you will want to supplement the feeding routine.

We offer a wide range of organic and natural fertilizers, nutrients and supplements for you to choose from.
