Many gardeners, both advanced and amateur, have become interested in growing in an artificial medium, with roots suspended into water, instead of soil.  This method, known as “hydroponics”, is an excellent way to for plants to consistently receive essential nutrients in exactly the right amounts at precisely the right time.

The direct and regular delivery of nutrient-rich water and oxygen to the roots of plants in a hydroponic system is an efficient way to give them the nutrition they need.  Scientists believe that the extra oxygen in the hydroponic growing mediums helps to stimulate root growth.  Plants with ample oxygen in the root system also absorb nutrients faster, and do several times per day, without having to search for and break down nutrients in the soil.  The plant can use this saved energy to grow faster and produce more, thus resulting in stronger, healthier plants and bigger yields.

You can use your hydroponic gardening system to grow almost anything including lettuce, orchids, tomatoes, jalapenos, dill, or whatever your palette desires.  If you live in an area with poor soil, want to garden indoors all year round or want to try something new and exciting, we have an array of hydroponic setups in stock for you to look at.  Space and budget will be the determining factors in what will work best for you.
